Ready to Vote? Here's What You Need to Know for the 2025 Federal Election
Your vote matters. It’s how you make your voice heard on the things that impact your life—whether that’s affordable housing, quality healthcare, education, or the environment. Let’s get you ready for election day.
Who Can Vote?
Before anything else, make sure you’re eligible. You can vote in the federal election if:
- You're a Canadian Citizen
- You'll be 18 or older on April 18,2025
- You can show proof of identity and address
Changed your address recently? Don’t forget to update your voter registration to ensure your information is accurate.

Your Voter Information Card will be mailed to you and includes your assigned voting location and hours. Bring it with you, along with one piece of ID showing your name, to make the process quick and easy.
Didn’t receive your card? No problem, you can still vote by bringing a piece of ID that shows both your name and home address. (See accepted ID)

Key Election Dates
-Advance Voting: April 18–21 (9 AM – 9 PM)
-Deadline to Register: April 22, 2025
-Election Day: Monday, April 28, 2025
-Vote by Mail Deadline: Apply by April 22 at 6 PM (Apply to vote by mail)
