As a trustee, you’ll help guide both organizations, supporting opportunities for learning, creativity and connection across Stouffville. Bring your perspective to the table and help the Library and Latcham Art Centre continue to respond to the needs of a growing and evolving community.
About the Board
The Stouffville Library Board is made up of nine trustees, with the majority representing the community at large. Trustees are appointed by Town Council for a four-year term and help guide both Stouffville Library and Latcham Art Centre.
What Trustees Do
Trustees bring diverse perspectives to Board discussions and decisions, set strategic direction, approve policies and budgets, and advocate for the Library and Latcham Art Centre in the community.
Trustees also:
- Attend regular Board meetings and review meeting materials in advance
- Serve on Board subcommittees
- Advocate for the Library and Art Centre in the community
- Represent or volunteer at Library and Art Centre events
The Board typically meets on the first Thursday of each month, except in July and August. Meetings are held at the Library, 2 Park Drive, and generally last two to three hours. Additional time is required for meeting preparation, subcommittee work and participation in Library and Art Centre events. Most duties take place outside regular business hours.
Board Subcommittees
Subcommittees generally meet two to three times per year, depending on need. Most Board meetings and responsibilities take place outside regular business hours.

How to Apply
Applications to join the Stouffville Library Board open October 19, 2026. Review the eligibility requirements and trustee responsibilities above, then complete the application at Application-for-Appointment - Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville and submit it with any required supporting documents by November 7.
