Joining the Stouffville Library Board is an opportunity to help strengthen two important community organizations. Trustees bring diverse perspectives to discussions, help shape policies, budgets and plans, and advocate for the Library and Latcham Art Centre within the community.

The Stouffville Library Board is made up of nine Trustees, with the majority representing the community at large. Appointed by Town Council for a four-year term, the Board provides guidance for both Stouffville Library and Latcham Art Centre.
The Board establishes policies, budgets and plans that reflect its strategic priorities. Trustees also advocate for both organizations and bring diverse perspectives to discussions focused on improving their services and community impact.
What Trustees Do
Trustees help guide and advocate for Stouffville Library and Latcham Art Centre. They contribute their perspectives to Board discussions and decisions while helping establish policies, budgets and plans for both organizations.
Trustees also:
- Attend and prepare for regular Board meetings
- Serve on Board subcommittees
- Advocate for the Library and Art Centre in the community
- Represent or volunteer at Library and Art Centre events
- May participate in Library associations, if desired
The Board typically meets on the first Thursday of each month, except in July and August. Meetings are held at the Library at 2 Park Drive and generally run for two to three hours. In addition to regular meetings, Trustees, prepare by reviewing meeting materials, serve on one or more Board subcommittees, represent or volunteer at Library and Art Centre events, may participate in Library associations, if desired
Board Subcommittees
Subcommittees generally meet two to three times per year, depending on need. Most Board meetings and responsibilities take place outside regular business hours.
